Ashley Jones, her son, Krshawn Baker, 16, and Saniya Harris, 16, ride a float during a community parade in Columbus Saturday afternoon. Organized by Pamela Turner, a meal and information were provided following the parade at the Boys and Girls Club. “This is to bring people together to be one and bring awareness to the different issues happening in our community,” Saniya said. She is the daughter of Sandy Young. Turner plans to make this an annual event. “I wanted to do something visual. Everyone is not going to a meeting, so we are bringing it to the people,” Turner said. Gun violence, suicide prevention, abuse, addiction and homelessness were a few of the topics. Deanna Robinson/Dispatch Staff
