OKTIBBEHA COUNTY — A man accused of killing his neighbor at The Links on Friday night has been extradited to Oktibbeha County.
Arti Untrea Brown, 31, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Dylan Terigeyo Meikle, 32, according to Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office. A confrontation between the two turned violent just after 9 p.m. at the 100 block of Floyd Lane in the apartment complex west of Starkville.
Brown fled the scene before deputies arrived and was arrested Saturday morning in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. He was extradited and brought back Tuesday afternoon to Oktibbeha County Jail, where he is being held on $1 million bond.
Capt. Brett Watson said OCSO has “a pretty good idea” of Brown’s motive in the shooting, but he would not release that or any further information related to the investigation.
