Burns Bottom Arts Festival will be held Saturday on the corner of 2nd Avenue North and 3rd Street, at the entrance of the Lowndes County Soccer Complex.
Formerly called the Third Saturday Art & Music Fair, the festival features various vendors and music, according to CAC Operating Director Salem Gibson.
The name change reflects the name of the Columbus neighborhood, which is just east of the soccer complex. The change also comes after CAC and Munson Brothers Trading Post partnered to host the event. In the past, the business has served as the festival’s music venue.
Gibson noted that Munson Brothers owner Ryan Munson is a longtime supporter of the Golden Triangle arts scene and is on the CAC Board of Directors.
About 25 or more vendors selling a variety of arts and crafts will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bands will be playing from noon to 10 p.m.
Gibson noted that so far the festival has been well attended. Many people have commented that they like the event because it is dog friendly.
With the dog park and soccer complex nearby, there are a lot of things for people to do while they visit the festival, Gibson said.
There will also be a family area that will include an art activity — decorating Easter egg lanyards.
While the current forecast calls for rain on Saturday, Gibson said they still plan to host the event. Those who wish to attend the event can check the CAC’s Facebook account for weather-related updates on the festival.
Burns Bottom Arts Festival is also scheduled for May 21 and June 18.
