An Amory man was killed Thursday when a pickup struck the bicycle he was riding on Highway 45, according to Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant.
Bryan Anthony Edwards, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene, Merchant said.
Mississippi Highway Patrol Staff Sgt. Derrick Beckom said Edwards was riding the bicycle south on Highway 45, south of Jess Lyons Road and near Hank’s BBQ. He was struck by a southbound 2021 Dodge Ram 1500.
Merchant said, according to witnesses, Edwards swerved out into the road in front of the oncoming vehicle. The driver called 911.
No charges have been filed.
MHP is still investigating the accident, Beckom said.
