A Lowndes County man was arrested for aggravated assault after allegedly shooting a gun at another man’s feet, according to Lowndes County Sheriff Eddie Hawkins.
On Friday deputies responded to a call about a disturbance with weapons on Nature Trail, off of Mac Davis Road in New Hope, Hawkins said. A 16-year-old was trying to leave a residence in his car, and called 911 after his father, Billy Wayne Snider, 39, allegedly blocked him in. The teenager also called his stepfather for help.
When the stepfather arrived, Snider shot into the ground near the stepfather’s feet, but he was not hit or otherwise injured.
Snider was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, Hawkins said. He is currently out on a $10,000 bond.
