Mississippi University for Women will recognize fall graduates with several commencement ceremonies today, in Rent Auditorium in Whitfield Hall on The W’s campus.
“We are looking forward to celebrating our fall 2021 graduates. While it will look different than traditional commencement ceremonies of the past, we have found the socially distanced ceremonies of the past two semesters provide memorable experiences for our graduates,” said Scott Tollison, provost and vice president for academic affairs.
College of Business and Professional Studies and School of Education Commencement Ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. The College of Arts and Sciences and College of Nursing and Health Sciences Commencement Ceremony will be held at 3 p.m.
The ceremonies will celebrate the achievements of students, faculty and The W community with two ceremonies.
Each graduate will receive four tickets for their conferral ceremony. A graduate’s four ticket holders will be seated together in a group/pod with physical distancing between groups/pods. There will not be any general admission seating.
Masks will be required of all participants and their guests.
Due to public health measures, there will be no on-campus facilities for livestream broadcast. The ceremony will be broadcast from a link on the university’s homepage, www.muw.edu.
All commencement plans are subject to change at any time due to health concerns and there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. Any changes will be communicated directly to those graduates attending the ceremonies through graduates’ [email protected] email and through the commencement website.
