The Budweiser Clydesdales are scheduled to make appearances in Tupelo, Starkville and Columbus in early December.
Mitchell Distributing will bring the eight-horse hitch, along with the famous red beer wagon to North Mississippi for several different Christmas festivities.
The Clydesdales will kick off the week on Dec. 1 with the Tupelo Christmas Parade.
On Dec. 2, one horse will be at Starkville’s Holiday Bazaar at the Mill from 4-6 p.m. A Starkville Clydesdales showcase parade will be held Dec. 3 starting at 5 p.m. (with viewing opportunities of the setup at Fire Station Park at 4 p.m.) with the hitch making beer deliveries down Main Street/University Drive and through the Cotton District. The parade will start on East Lampkin Street, turn right on South Washington Street and then travel down Main Street/University Drive until stopping at Extension Drive.
The parade is not the same as the Starkville Christmas parade, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday on Main Street.
The hitch will make an appearance in the Columbus Bicentennial Christmas Parade at 3 p.m. Dec. 5. This year’s parade grand marshal is Helen Karriem.
“It’s an honor to have the Budweiser Clydesdales visit our north Mississippi locations this holiday season,” said Anna Grace Tanner, Communications Manager for Mitchell Companies. “This visit was actually a rescheduled visit from spring of 2020 due to the pandemic, so we’re thrilled to be able to have them visit the areas for different Christmas festivities.”
The Clydesdales were last in the area in 2018 but haven’t been in the Christmas parades since 2013.
