A man wanted for a Northside murder is in a Wyoming jail awaiting extradition, according to Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton.
Kingduron Baku Pyle, 19, was arrested Saturday in Shoshoni, Wyoming, after a Fremont County sheriff’s deputy responded to a disturbance at a motel, Shelton said. Pyle reportedly told the deputy he was wanted for murder in Mississippi, then attempted to run to keep from being arrested.
Pyle is accused of killing Shad Reese, 23, of Macon on Nov. 1 when Reese was meeting Pyle to illegally purchase a firearm, police believe.
Officers found Reese’s body at 2:40 a.m. in the front seat of a vehicle on 10th Avenue North near Union Academy. Investigators found one shell casing at the scene.
Shelton said he expects Pyle will be extradited to Mississippi following a hearing in Wyoming. He said the transfer to Lowndes County Adult Detention Center will likely happen after the Thanksgiving holiday.
