A man wearing a gray T-shirt emblazoned with the message, “I Do What I Want,” broke into the Dollar General next to Columbus Police Department on Saturday and stole beer.
The suspect — an unmasked white male in his 20s standing about 6 feet — used a brick to smash the front glass to enter the store at about 1 a.m., according to a CPD press release. He was wearing a blue Nike hat and was carrying a backpack. He left the store carrying beer in his hands, store surveillance footage shows.
The store, located at 1533 Main St., was closed at the time of the burglary.
Police believe the suspect sustained minor cuts as he exited the store. CPD has released two photos of the suspect still at large.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 800-530-7151 or submit an anonymous tip via the P3 smartphone app.
