A Columbus man has been arrested in Macon after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend to death.
Christopher Wicks, 22, has been charged with the murder of Kaliyah Brooks, 21, according to Macon Police Chief Davine Beck.
Beck said police were called to Cedar Creek Apartments at about 4 p.m. to find Brooks unresponsive and suffering from stab wounds. Police arrested Wicks at the scene.
“Right now, we aren’t clear what led up to it, but we know they were in a relationship,” Beck said. “We’re still investigating. It appeared to be a domestic dispute gone bad.”
Brooks was taken to an area hospital where she later died, Beck said.
Wicks is in custody at Noxubee County Jail after he was denied bond due to the nature of the charge, Beck said.
