Starkville police officers arrested one more suspect in Sunday’s early morning shootout.
Members of the U.S. Marshal Task Force apprehended Jallel Jones, 24, of Mathiston, in Clay County Monday morning. Jones has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
Starkville Police Department arrested Eric Jefferson, 20, and Zahied Logan, 20, both of Macon, Sunday morning on the same charges.
The shootout occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday behind Marathon “Coconuts in the Grove” gas station on University Drive over an argument between a man and woman breaking off their romantic relationship, authorities previously said.
Four individuals, including three suspects and a female victim, were sent to OCH Regional Medical Center for gunshot wound treatment. One suspect, who SPD has not named, is still receiving treatment and will be booked upon discharge.
SPD is not searching for any more suspects.
All three suspects are in custody at Oktibbeha County Jail with bonds set at $500,000 each.
