A man wanted for allegedly stealing his neighbor’s vehicle was arrested Monday after a woman’s purse was stolen outside Cadence Bank.
Jonathan Hendrix, 26, of Columbus, has been charged with robbery and felony taking of a motor vehicle, Shelton said.
Investigators initially began searching for Hendrix about a month ago when his neighbor reported Hendrix had stolen a vehicle. The vehicle was later found, Shelton said.
On Monday afternoon, police say Hendrix snatched a woman’s purse in the parking lot of the Cadence Bank at 803 Main Street. Though the victim fell during the incident, she was not seriously injured. Investigators arrested him later that day.
Hendrix is in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $100,000 bond for the two charges, Shelton said.
