A fire occurred on Blackjack Road near Starkville Wednesday afternoon following an equipment fire.
Oktibbeha County Fire Department arrived on the scene around 4:30 p.m., Fire Services Coordinator Patrick Warner said, to see a bulldozer in flames. Firefighters extinguished the blaze with water and foam concentrate.
The driver of the bulldozer, a road construction worker, exited the machine once it caught on fire. Neither he nor anyone else were injured.
Warner said he does not know for sure what started the fire, but he believes it could have been from a potential oil leak that spilled onto the motor of the machine.
