A forum for Columbus municipal candidates has been rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Lyceum at Lee (former Lee High School.)
Ten of the city’s 14 mayor and council candidates were initially scheduled to speak at the forum last week, but the event was canceled due to severe weather forecasts. Organizers are working this week to confirm candidates can attend the rescheduled event.
Candidates will have the opportunity to make opening and closing statements, as well as answer a series of questions from a moderator. It is sponsored by The Dispatch, WCBI and Lyceum at Lee.
“Unfortunately, we had to reschedule due to the threat of severe weather, but tickets are still available for the rescheduled date, and we’re hoping for a good turnout to hear from Columbus candidates,” said Dispatch Publisher Peter Imes.
To reserve tickets, go to cdispatch.com/forum. The event will be livestreamed at wcbi.com on Thursday evening and broadcast on MyMS at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
