A man accused of multiple burglaries in Lowndes County has also been charged with raping a person whose home he broke into.
Joshua Daniel Tate, 25, of Nash Road, was arrested March 16 on Holly Hills Road after investigators with Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office said he had broken into multiple homes since March 6. During one of the break-ins, he allegedly raped a resident of the house, according to an LCSO press release issued Tuesday.
Tate has been charged with one count of rape, three counts of burglary of a dwelling and one count of burglary of an automobile, along with multiple misdemeanors.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Tate was in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center with a total bond set at $160,000. The bond for the rape charge alone is set at $100,000.
