An assistant manager at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Columbus has been arrested for embezzlement.
Columbus police arrested Adam Williston, 31, of Columbus, on Tuesday. Police Chief Fred Shelton confirmed Williston is an assistant manager at the Military Road store.
Officials at Lowe’s corporate office reached out to investigators after conducting an audit of the store and finding several irregularities, Shelton said. He declined to answer questions about how much money Williston allegedly took, citing the ongoing investigation, but said the crime happened within the last year.
Lowe’s corporate office did not answer an email or call from The Dispatch by press time.
Williston has been released from Lowndes County Adult Detention Center after posting $5,000 bond.
