As of Saturday morning, there are four confirmed cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in Lowndes County and one case in Clay County, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health.
Those were among a jump of 60 cases recorded in the state since Friday.
MSDH now reports 140 cases across 45 Mississippi counties. Hinds (14), DeSoto (13) and Harrison (10) counties have recorded the most positive cases.
So far, there’s been only one COVID-19 death in the state — in Hancock County earlier this week — during the outbreak.
