A Columbus man suspected of a weekend shooting in Oktibbeha County turned himself in to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.
Demarcus D. Hayden, 28, is accused of shooting an individual on Chisholm Drive, southwest of Starkville, at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. He faces charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping, grand larceny and aggravated domestic violence, authorities previously told The Dispatch.
The victim is in critical condition at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Hayden is in custody at Oktibbeha County Jail and his bond has not been set, said Lt. Jon Davis of Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office.
