COLUMBUS — A Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office employee is on administrative leave after Sheriff Mike Arledge learned the employee is a subject of a criminal investigation by the state Attorney General’s Office.
Arledge announced the decision in a press release Monday. The press release did not name the employee, who has not been charged.
Arledge became aware of the allegations when the AG’s office informed him of the investigation, the press release said. The allegations that led to the investigation are not related to the employee’s duties with LCSO.
The employee will remain on administrative leave pending the investigation’s outcome.
