Columbus police have in custody a suspect in an armed robbery in the area of Byrnes Circle off Waterworks Road Wednesday afternoon.
No injuries were reported from the robbery, which occurred at about 12:45 p.m., and officers had the suspect in custody within two hours, according to a Columbus Police Department press release. The suspect, who investigators have not named, is expected to be formally charged today.
CPD Chief Fred Shelton said officers are still investigating the incident and declined to give details about where exactly the robbery occurred.
The press release said police have recovered a firearm, and investigators are still trying to learn whether the victim and suspect know each other.
