Deputies with Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office have arrested an Alabama man who led them on a chase through the county Monday night.
Glen Clayton Minor, 37, of Vernon, has been charged with felony eluding law enforcement by failing to yield in Lowndes County and may face further charges in his own state.
Just after 7 p.m., dispatchers from Millport Police Department in Millport, Alabama, notified area law enforcement of a Toyota Corolla on Highway 50 about to enter Lowndes County, according to a LCSO press release. Minor drove the vehicle north on Gunshoot Road through Steens while deputies pursued him, ending up on Highway 12 East. He took “numerous” county roads before turning on Highway 12 and driving back toward Alabama.
Deputies successfully stopped the vehicle before he made it to the state line, the press release said.
No one was injured in the chase. A 26-year-old female passenger in the vehicle with Minor is not facing charges.
Minor is currently in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. His bond has not been set.
