A third suspect in a May 2017 armed robbery at the Camelot Apartments has been sentenced after pleading guilty in Oktibbeha County Circuit Court.
Marvelous Houston, 41, was indicted for two counts of armed robbery in January 2018. The charges stem from an incident at the Camelot Apartments on North Montgomery Street in Starkville.
Houston was accused of threatening two victims with a gun to steal money and cell phones during the incident.
Houston pleaded guilty to the lesser included charge of robbery on Friday. Mississippi 16th Circuit Judge Lee Coleman sentenced him to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections with five years suspended, 10 to serve, and a $1,200 fine.
Coleman dismissed the second armed robbery charge against Houston based on his plea.
Last week, two other suspects — Fajion Hill and Rodriquez Norman — also pleaded guilty in the case. Hill and Norman, like Houston, faced two counts of armed robbery and received 15-year sentences with 5 years suspended and $1,200 fines. Their second charges were also dismissed.
Sydney Westmoreland, the fourth suspect in the case, has not stood trial or pleaded.
