A Columbus woman was arrested after she was accused of giving more than $10,000 from a cash register to an unknown man.
Alaynah Grace Hoadley, 18, of 101 Autumn Trail, is charged with embezzlement after police officers arrested her Thursday, according to a Columbus Police Department press release.
Investigators and store management believe Hoadley took the money over a six-week period during which she was employed at the business, from late December to last Thursday.
The press release did not identify the business where Hoadley worked. However, the arrest location reported on the arrest report is 1913 Hwy. 45 North, which is the address of Walmart in Columbus.
CPD Chief Fred Shelton added the individual who received the money could face felony charges if he is identified and if he knew he was receiving stolen money.
Hoadley has been released on $10,000 bond.
