Investigators with Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals for felony aggravated assault the weekend before Christmas.
Damien Lamar Griffin, 27, of 1320 12th Ave. S., is facing one count of domestic violence-aggravated assault after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend on Saturday, according to a LCSO press release. Deputies were called to a residence on Harrison Road at about 10:30 p.m. where they found the 30-year-old victim.
The victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle for treatment, and deputies took Griffin into custody that night. The press release said Griffin and the victim were in a dating relationship at the time of the assault.
Griffin was also charged with misdemeanor disobeying a police officer and resisting arrest.
The next day, authorities arrested Brodrick Marcellous Glenn Sr, 26, of 156 Applewood Dr. Deputies had responded to a call on East Yorkville Road at about 12:50 a.m. The victim, a 38-year-old man, told deputies he had been at Glenn’s home earlier when Glenn attacked him. The victim was later taken to Baptist.
While investigators did not indicate whether Glenn used a weapon, the press release said Glenn was charged with felony aggravated assault because of the severity of the victim’s injuries.
Griffin is currently in Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $10,590 bond, including the misdemeanor charges. Glenn has been released from custody on $5,000 bond.
