Columbus police are looking for suspects in two non-fatal weekend shootings that occurred about three hours apart.
Neither victim suffered life-threatening injuries, police say, and neither is cooperating with authorities.
A police department press release said the first incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Friday at the 1000 block of Shady Street near Waterworks Road. Two men were in a verbal argument when one shot the other.
The victim fled on foot and collapsed several houses down from where he was shot. He was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
In the second incident, which occurred at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the 400 block of Summerhaven in east Columbus, another verbal argument between two men resulted in one being shot and hospitalized.
In each case, police say, the victim and suspect knew each other.
No one is in custody in either case, but police are working to identify suspects.
“We are investigating if the two incidents are related,” Police Chief Fred Shelton said. “It is early in the investigation and that is one of many questions we are working on.”
Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 800-530-7151.
