A woman was arrested for multiple counts of motor vehicle theft after she allegedly stole two cars she was supposed to move for their owners.
Ashley Marie Shields, 25, was charged with two counts each of burglary and motor vehicle theft last week. According to a Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the daughter of the vehicle owners reported they had been stolen from her home on East Rail Road Drive on Wednesday. Shields was arrested for the theft the next day.
Shields had been responsible for moving the two vehicles, a white Chevrolet Astro Van and a black BMW convertible, from the daughter’s property, LCSO Capt. Greg Wright said. She is not related to the vehicles’ owners.
Shields has been released from Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $20,000 bond.
