Columbus police are investigating what is being reported as an accidental shooting.
According to a department press release, officers responded to an incident at Eveningside Apartments at about 5 p.m. Saturday. The victim, according to the release, sustained a non-life-threatening injury in the incident.
Police Chief Fred Shelton confirmed to The Dispatch that two adult males were involved in the shooting.
The victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle for treatment. The victim, according to the release, reported the shooting as an accident.
Officers remained on scene Saturday evening and are continuing their investigation into the matter.
