Columbus Air Force Base authorities temporarily closed the main gate to the base earlier Tuesday for a vehicle check.
The gate was closed after a canine officer initiated a vehicle search in a delivery truck, according to a CAFB press release.
The gate closed at 1:15 p.m. and reopened at 2:40 p.m. after the delivery truck was deemed safe, the press release said.
Though some posts on social media claim there has been a threat against the base, a CAFB spokesperson called the vehicle check “routine” and added the base was still accessible via the south gate off Highway 45 North.
