A Lowndes County man arrested for attacking one woman and cyberstalking another will spend five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to domestic violence in Lowndes County Circuit Court.
Adrian Celestine Gamory Jr., 30, was arrested last year and indicted on burglary, cyberstalking and aggravated domestic violence. According to court files, on Feb. 12, 2017, he broke into an acquaintance’s home and attempted to strangle her. He also threatened and harassed another woman through text and Facebook from September 2016 to January 2017.
Gamory pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic violence and was sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections with five years to serve and five suspended. The burglary and cyberstalking charges were retired based on his plea.
Another Lowndes County man will spend three years in MDOC for one count of touching a child for lustful purposes.
Demetrius Macon, 29, was sentenced to eight years in prison with three to serve and five suspended. Indicted in 2016, Macon was arrested for molesting a child under the age of 16.
Macon had previous felony convictions in 2007 for simple assault on a law enforcement officer, 2008 for fleeing a law enforcement officer and 2012 for grand larceny.
Other pleas this session have included (Name, age, charge, sentence):
■ Romeo Sanders, 40, aggravated domestic violence for attacking and beating a woman on Sept. 1, 2014, 10 years in MDOC with 10 suspended and five years post-release supervision;
■ Thomas Savely, 59, aggravated domestic violence for beating a family member in July 2017, 20 years in prison with five years to serve and 15 years suspended;
■ Rosemarie Prater, 37, one count of false pretense in 2017, charge decreased to a misdemeanor and her 6-month sentence is suspended; and
■ Carolina Griffin, 40, fraudulent use of ID, five years of non-adjudicated probation.
