State authorities are searching for an escaped man convicted of robbery and burglaries in Choctaw and Oktibbeha counties.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for any information on 37-year-old Eugene Robinson, who escaped the George County Regional Correctional Facility in Lucedale on Saturday, according to a Mississippi Department of Corrections press release.
Robinson fled the facility after tying up an officer and stealing the officer’s champagne 2000 GMC Sonoma truck at about 7 p.m. Saturday.
The truck has a Greene County license plate with tag number GR7 315.
Robinson, a black male who is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 230 pounds, is serving a total of 30 years in prison for armed robbery in Choctaw County and burglary in Oktibbeha County, according to MDOC. His MDOC number is L4773, and he’s described as having multiple tattoos on his chest, arms and back.
Robinson has been in prison since 2003.
