A Columbus man is in jail after firing multiple rounds into an occupied vehicle over the weekend.
Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jarvis Alexander, 25, of 2203 Hughes Lane, Saturday. Alexander is charged with aggravated assault with a weapon.
Alexander allegedly opened fired on the vehicle at his home Saturday during what LSCO Capt. Ryan Rickert described as a disturbance that “got out of hand.” Alexander had apparently gotten into an argument involving his girlfriend and another man.
Rickert did not say how many people were in the vehicle but confirmed no one was hurt in the shooting.
Alexander’s bond has not been set.
