Police are seeking two suspects in an armed robbery reported outside Quality Inn Friday night.
Officers with Columbus Police Department are investigating the incident that Assistant Chief Fred Shelton said began when two people — whom he described as panhandlers — approached a man outside the inn on Highway 45 North.
The two suspects, one male and one female, asked the victim for money, Shelton said. When the victim said no, the male suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded money. The suspects took the victim’s wallet and left the scene.
The victim was not injured, Shelton said.
Shelton did not release any further description of the suspects.
