The driver in a wreck that sent three New Hope High School students to the hospital last October has been indicted on three counts of aggravated DUI.
A Lowndes County grand jury indicted Tyler Coleman, 19, of 1025 Casey Lane. Coleman was served with the indictment 10 months after driving a vehicle off Highway 82 on the way back to Columbus from an event in Starkville on Oct. 8. The vehicle, a silver Toyota, rolled multiple times before coming to rest on the side of the highway.
Coleman and his three passengers were all taken to various hospitals. One, a 15-year-old girl, was flown to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson where she spent several days on life support. The other two passengers, both 17-year-old males, were sent to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Coleman is out of Lowndes County Adult Detention Center after posting $10,000 bond.
