A person shot in a home invasion Wednesday in eastern Lowndes County is fighting for his life in a Jackson hospital.
The shooting victim was visiting a home on Tabernacle Road Wednesday just before midnight when three robbery suspects entered the home, shooting the victim and assaulting two residents, Capt. Ryan Rickert with Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office said. The victim was airlifted to a Jackson hospital where he was initially listed in stable condition before having to undergo surgery Thursday, Rickert said.
The suspects are not in custody.
Rickert described the suspects as three black men dressed in black and camouflage whose faces were covered. Investigators are not sure if the suspects took anything from the home.
Deputies are also investigating the possibility the suspects specifically targeted that home, Rickert said.
