Ward 4 council candidate Fredrick Jackson has taken in more than $1,500 in campaign contributions ahead of next week’s runoff election against incumbent Councilman Marty Turner.
Jackson received $1,585 in non-itemized contributions for the runoff reporting period, which ended at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Only donations of more than $200 are required to be itemized.
The fundraising brings Jackson’s year-to-date total to $5,035.
Thursday’s campaign finance report also includes $1,546.44 in expenses, $771.44 of which are itemized for to Signature Sounds on Highway 45 N. Jackson has spent $4,963.83 on year-to-date on his campaign.
City Registrar Brenda Williams said she did not receive a finance report from Turner’s campaign by Tuesday’s deadline. Turner, when contacted, said he was aware of the deadline and that his campaign manager was supposed to turn in the report.
