Mississippi Business Journal has named Golden Triangle LINK CEO Joe Max Higgins as its Person of the Year.
Higgins, a Paragould, Arkansas, native who came to the Golden Triangle in 2003, has helped create more than 5,900 jobs and attract $5.9 billion in private investment, MBJ reported.
The MBJ report noted three Tennessee Valley Authority megasites Higgins has helped bring to the area, as well as Paccar and Steel Dynamics plants.
His efforts were also featured earlier this year in a 13-minute segment on CBS’ “60 Minutes.”
Following the airing of the segment, Higgins received calls from multiple companies about developing in the area, had two book publishers approach him as well as someone with NASCAR about placing the LINK logo on a race car. He’s also been booked as the keynote speaker for the International Economic Development Council next year, among other things, according to the Journal.
