Officers with the Columbus Police Department are now searching for two suspects in a pair of robberies on Waterworks Road Saturday night.
Assistant Police Chief Fred Shelton said the robberies happened after 9 p.m. The first occurred at 3 Way Quick Stop at 1313 Waterworks Road. He said the second, which came a few minutes after the first, happened at Five Star Grocery at 515 Waterworks Road, near the Waterworks Road-23rd Street North intersection.
While initially police believed the same suspect robbed both stores, Shelton said they are now searching for two separate suspects in the two robberies. Shelton said due to the similarities of the robberies, police are investigating the possibility that the robberies are coordinated efforts.
Shelton said no injuries were reported in the robberies.
