A Mississippi State University student was found dead at her Green Oaks home Sunday, Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt confirmed.
A cause of death for 21-year-old Leona Prisock, of 105 Hemlock Road in Starkville’s Green Oaks subdivision, has not yet been determined, but Hunt said foul play is not suspected.
Prisock’s body was found about 2:30 p.m., Hunt said, and will soon be taken for an autopsy and toxicology testing.
MSU Chief Communications Officer Sid Salter confirmed Prisock was a senior geosciences major at the university.
“Any time the university loses a student, the entire university is diminished,” Salter said. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.”
Starkville Police Department did not respond to a request for information on the death Monday.
