Dawg House Sports Grill in Starkville is closing.
The restaurant opened in the 17,000-square-foot old State Theatre on East Main Street two years ago. On Monday, this note appeared on the restaurant’s Facebook page: “Unfortunately the time has come that we close our doors and spend time with our family. Thank you to our loyal customers and team members over the past couple of years.”
Danielle Boren, the grill’s owner, told The Dispatch this morning that the business will close for good after Saturday night.
Boren owns and operates another Dawg House Sports Grill in Ruston, Louisiana. It will remain open.
The Starkville location employs about 50 people.
In Columbus, there is a new after-school daycare.
Tucker’s After School will open Monday at 528 Alabama St. — the former ALOE location.
Renovations have been taking place for several weeks at the spot.
Lauretta Tucker, the daycare’s owner, said the focus will be on serving school-aged children, specifically pre-K through sixth graders.
Tucker also operates Tucker’s After School, a daycare for preschoolers. It is located at 539 Airline Rd.
