Authorities continue to investigate a shooting that appears to have left two men injured Sunday.
Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shots fired call about 5 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Land Road and Highway 373. Deputies found no victims or culprits at the scene. However, multiple shell casings were discovered at the scene, according to Capt. Ryan Ricket with the LCSO.
Rickert said that later Sunday evening, two men in their early 20’s showed up at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. One had been shot in the lower leg. One had been shot in the hip, according to Rickert.
Authorities do not know of a motive for the shooting.
No arrests have been made in the case, authorities told The Dispatch this morning.
