Renasant Bank has opened a new Columbus location.
The branch is at 595 18th Avenue North — that’s beside Logan’s Roadhouse, across from Cracker Barrel.
“We needed a location that was more convenient to the Highway 45 North corridor and could also serve the medical community,” Bill West, the bank’s president, told The Dispatch this week. “Having access to Sixth Street North, through the Creekside complex, was a big factor in our location decision, as well.”
The bank purchased the last parcel available in the Creekside Development from Mark Castleberry, a local developer, to build the 4,900 square foot branch on.
West said the Renasant Bank branch on Main Street was somewhat limited in its drive-up capacity. The 18th Avenue North spot has three drive-up lanes, as well as an exterior ATM. There are four teller stations inside the bank.
The new location will have a grand opening at 8:30 a.m. Friday. The public is invited.
The Renasant Bank at 905 Main Street remains open, as does the bank’s wealth management office, located in the River Ridge complex on Third Street South.
The 18th Avenue North branch employs 10 people. It also houses Renasant’s lending staff.
Cellphone Repair Geeks opened in Columbus in early December.
The store — operated by Ben Mitchell and John Edmonds — is located in Kroger Plaza on Highway 45 North, beside Pizza Hut and Monograms Plus.
Mitchell said they are certified mobile device specialists and most repairs can be completed the same day the device is brought in. They offer 90-day warranties on all repairs.
“We buy any model of cell phone and tablets ever made, in any condition,” Mitchell added.
Cellphone Repair Geeks is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday. A grand opening was held today.
The store covers 1,200 square feet. It employs two people.
