The family of the late Bryce E. Myles has created a scholarship fund in memory of their son.
Myles, 16, died in a car accident in Alabama last June.
The family will award the Bryce E. Myles #LiveLike14 scholarship to one qualifying Lamar County School District senior. Students wishing to learn the criteria may contact Lamar County High School Guidance Counselor Katrina Cook at 205-695-7717.
Donations to the scholarship can be made at The Bank of Vernon to the #LiveLike14 account. For more information, contact Bjanka Myles at 205-712-2397, Keith Myles Sr. at 205-712-2391 or Keith Myles Jr. at 205-712-5215.
The family also thanked the community for its support after the fatal accident.
“Your thoughts, calls, visits, prayers, donations and deeds that were done and are still being done were greatly appreciated,” the family wrote in a letter. “The citizens of Lamar County and the surrounding counties went over and beyond the call of duty in assisting us with the lost of our son/brother and we can’t say thank you enough.”
