Columbus Lowndes County Emergency Management Agency will activate tornado sirens Wednesday as part of the National Weather Service’s statewide tornado drill.
The drill will be conducted at 9:15 a.m. as part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Mississippi, according to a media release from the local agency.
CLC Emergency Management encourages businesses, schools and churches to use this drill as an opportunity to work on preparation for a real tornado and check the readiness of Severe Weather Safety Plans. It also suggested starting a safety plan if your business, school or church does not currently have one.
