A Columbus man went to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday night after the motorcycle he was riding rear-ended a truck.
The collision happened around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 45 and Jess Lyons Road, according to Master Sgt. Criss Turnipseed with the Mississippi Highway Patrol. The two vehicles were stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, the motorcycle took off faster than the truck and collided with the back of it, Turnipseed said.
The driver of the motorcycle was “banged up” but did not have life-threatening injuries, which Turnipseed said was probably due to the low speeds both vehicles were traveling.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
