A juvenile struck by a car during a hit-and-run Saturday evening in Columbus suffered only moderate injuries, authorities say.
The child — whose name has not been released – was riding a bicycle near the intersection of Ninth Street South and 11th Avenue South about 7 p.m. when he was allegedly struck by a car. The child was able to ride home, where his mother called 911.
The victim claimed he was crossing the street when a green Buick with silver hubcaps came speeding down the road and hit him, according to Capt. Fred Shelton with the Columbus Police Department.
Police have not found the driver of the vehicle.
Anyone with information about the case should call Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 662-494-0109.
