An Oktibbeha County mobile home burned to the ground Sunday, and its occupant escaped the blaze with minor injuries.
Firefighters from District 5 and Central Oktibbeha County volunteer fire departments responded to the 119 Andrew Road blaze about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. When first responders arrived on scene, they found the mobile home fully engulfed.
The home’s occupant escaped with minor burns and refused medical treatment, Oktibbeha County Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames, he said, but the home was a total loss by the end of the event.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
“Our boys got there pretty fast and did everything they could do,” Rosenhan said. “It was a pretty spectacular fire.”
