The search for an Oktibbeha County man wanted in connection of a murder, kidnapping and burglary of a dwelling ended Saturday night when law enforcement agents found his body in Tennessee.
Terrance Avern Grayer, 38, of 935 Andrew Road, was found dead of what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound by Wayne County, Tenn. Authorities, an Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department press release states.
OCSD began searching for Grayer after a body was discovered in Oktibbeha County early Saturday morning.
Agents responded to 1195 John High Road about 1:45 a.m. for a call regarding a homicide and a kidnapping. When authorities arrived on the scene, they found a male victim who appeared to have died from a gunshot wound.
Oktibbeha County Corner Michael Hunt identified the victim Sunday as 30-year-old James Chandler.
The kidnapping victim, the release stated, was able to free themselves before authorities arrived and subsequently identified the suspect to deputies.
The suspect fled the scene with an accomplice, according to the authorities.
Wayne County, Tenn. law enforcement agents, working in coordination with OCSD, arrested Tessa Weeks, 36, also of 935 Andrew Road, Starkville, after a vehicle pursuit.
Weeks was charged with accessory to murder.
The investigation into this case continues.
