The Columbus Municipal School District is partnering with the Columbus Police Department to bring toys to local children this Christmas.
CMSD decided to contribute to the annual drive as part of “outreach assistance,” according to district spokesperson Jannette Adams.
“This seemed like a way to continue the giving spirit and provide a merry Christmas for up to five hundred children, many of whom are in our district,” Adams said in an email. “We just wanted to help.”
Donation boxes have been set up at each of the city schools. The CPD is asking for new, unwrapped toys for children 3 to 12 years old. The final day of the drive is Dec. 16.
To donate, drop a toy off at one of the city schools or contact Adams 662-386-9482 or Rhonda Sanders at 662-251-7355.
