CLAY COUNTY — United Way’s annual fundraiser kicks off this week.
Volunteers will work at non-profit agencies around West Point on Thursday morning as part of the annual Day of Caring. The fundraiser’s kick off luncheon will take place Thursday at The Civic in downtown West Point.
The event’s featured speaker is Kendarious Cotton, a young man who has been in and out of foster homes. Cotton is part of the Transitional Living Program of Sally Kate Winters Family Services. The luncheon begins at noon.
Founded in 1887, United Way is a non-profit organization whose goal is to “advance the common good.”
