WEST POINT — The West Point Police Department is looking for a suspect in a weekend armed robbery of a gas station.
An unknown black male robbed the Texaco gas station, located at 1404 Hwy. 45 N., just before midnight Friday, according to a press release issued by the department.
The man, who was wearing black clothing, gray gloves and a red bandanna, walked into the store with a cloth covering his face. When an employee asked the man to remove his face covering, the suspect walked around the counter, pulled a knife and took an undisclosed amount of cash. He then fled on foot. The store’s video surveillance cameras are being reviewed, according to Chief Tim Brinkley.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the police department at 662-494-1244 or Golden Triangle Crimestoppers at 1-800-530-7151. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
